History

Women in Super is a national networking group of women in the superannuation and financial services industries. It has branches in Adelaide, Brisbane, Hobart, Melbourne and Sydney, and over 1000 members in total. It was established in 1993 to provide networking opportunities for all women in the superannuation industry.

Women in Super decided to organise the Mothers Day Classic after the National Spokesperson for Women in Super, Mavis Robertson, experienced a similar event in the United States. Many members of Women in Super have been touched by breast cancer, whether personally or through friends or family.

Women in Super sees its organisation of the Mothers Day Classic as a vital investment in the future health of Australian women. Women in Super’s actions in relation to the Mothers Day Classic combine with its advocacy of women’s issues in the superannuation arena to work towards securing women’s futures.
