When Raelene Castle was appointed in 2017 as CEO of Rugby Australia, she beat out 200 candidates to get the top spot in one of Australia’s leading male dominated sporting organisations.
Speaking about Raelene at the time, Rugby Australia Chairman Cameron Clyne described her as a “standout candidate”. Of course solid credentials aside, it could have been argued that Raelene’s appointment came with the added benefit of bringing diversity and a fresh approach to one of the country’s oldest sporting institutions. Raelene is leading the charge to make rugby relevant, inclusive and accessible to all Australians in today’s digital age. Her goal is to expand the sport’s footprint to women, the indigenous community, Generation Z and Millennials.
Women in Super are excited to have Raelene along with Australian Rugby Seven’s star and Olympic Gold medallist, Alicia Quirk, join us for a very special lunch. Come and hear how these ladies are transforming Australian rugby!
