On Tuesday 27 March, Women in Super NSW held the first member-only training event for the year, Building Your Personal Agency. Over 70 members attended to hear from Rosamund Christie, Director of Adaptive Leadership Australia and an adjunct faculty member of the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of New South Wales about her tips and tricks on how to build personal agency, how to overcome unconscious bias and what default behaviours people have that could be getting in the way.
The session was highly interactive, with lots of opportunity for members to discuss their personal experiences around the tables and it was wonderful to hear such a buzz in the room during these discussions. The concept of women embracing a “healthy sense of entitlement” with regards to promoting themselves at work was one of many thought provoking concepts raised by Rosamund during the session.
Prior to the session commencing, Ciara Gaffney, Senior Legal Counsel, First State Super, gave some fantastic feedback about the AGSM course she completed after being awarded the Women in Super NSW scholarship last year. This program is run in partnership with AGSM @ UNSW Business School and applications for this year’s scholarship program close on Friday 13 April 2018 at 5pm, please click here for more information and to apply.
