Our speed mentoring experience is always a key event in the SA calendar. In 2018, attendees heard from four inspirational women who shared the secrets of their success, and provided honest and candid responses to a range of personal and work-related questions.
Our impressive mentors featured Jane Massared, Chief Executive Officer of COTA South Australia, Kerri Reynolds, Partner at KPMG, Abbie Spencer, Secretary at the Australian Services Union SA & NT Branch, and Callista Thillou, Executive Director, Communication, Marketing & Engagement at Flinders University.
Hosted by UniSuper, attendees were split into four intimate groups (rooms) and were allocated 20 minutes with each mentor. No questions were off limits and the conversations were perceptive and diverse in each group forum. After 20 minutes the mentors rotated until each group had an opportunity to learn from each of the four guest mentors. It was clear to see why our mentors were picked. Not only did their experience, openness and passion to pass on their wisdom and advice shine through, but the differing nature of their experience, backgrounds and personalities made for thought-provoking and varied discussions.
Speaking about the event’s success, Women in Super SA Chair, Sophie Horwood stated “This is the second year that we have run our speed mentoring event, and like our inaugural year, we have received outstanding feedback. The ability to learn from leaders in an intimate setting is highly valuable to attendees, resulting in meaningful and practical insights.”
