Women in Super State of play Series

Women in Super recognises how important it is to bring our members together in order to share ideas, and so we were thrilled to present our State of Play series, where brought together senior leaders from various aspects of the industry to provide an overview of how COVID-19 has affected them, and what they are doing differently in their roles, and for the industry.

WITH MARGO LYDON, CEO OF SUPERFRIEND

COVID-19 and all the changes it brought with it has had lasting effects on all of us, both good and bad. SuperFriend have dedicated the last few months to supporting our industry through these changes, while also navigating their own teams as they went. Margo provides an insightful overview of the mental health impact that the recent changes we've experienced has had on women in particular.

WITH VICTORIA WEEKES, CHAIR OF AGEC

The Australian Gender Equality Council is determined to achieve gender equality in Australia. Through high profile national awareness campaigns, advocacy and research, it aims to drive a cultural shift in Australia so that women and men have the same rights and opportunities across all sectors of the community. Victoria Weekes discusses exactly how AGEC plans to achieve this, and what they are currently working towards.

WITH JAN BERRIMAN, FORMER DIRECTOR OF HOUSING FOR THE YWCA

Resources for the homeless were already strained prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, and the true extent of the damage it has wrought on families in crisis will not be known until it's all over. Jan Berriman expects reported cases to double in the aftermath, and women are likely to bear the brunt.

We will be announcing more State of Play speakers soon, so stay tuned.
