This year we celebrate 25 years of Women in Super with a National Road Show featuring Julia Angrisano, the National Secretary of the Finance Sector Union and Director of AustralianSuper.

We’ve already seen an increase in flexible, independent work, a rise in the numbers working in the gig economy and the demise of one job for life. What impact will these structural changes have on retirement incomes and the current Superannuation system? What changes will we need to consider to ensure a dignified retirement for those starting work today and retiring 50 years from now?

Since becoming the FSU National Secretary in 2016, Julia has led the FSU’S Women’s Agenda and has elevated the issues facing women in the often male-dominated finance industry to the centre of the work undertaken by the FSU. This includes a focus on ameliorating the 30% gender pay gap faced by women in the industry and addressing the complex problem of women’s retirement incomes.
