The recent rallies around the country showed an estimated 100,000 Australians demanding an end to violence against women, with one of the key asks being properly funded specialist safety services.
The Zahra Foundation is one of these not-for-profit organisations that lights a path forward for women impacted by domestic abuse, providing free programs, services, education and grants promoting economic wellbeing and empowering participants to build a life that is free from poverty and abuse.
Economic insecurity often forces domestic violence victims to stay in abusive relationships, trapping them in unsafe situations and limiting their opportunities to rebuild. Programs offered by the Zahra Foundation aim to empower survivors to build skills and confidence; learn about healthy relationships, communication and decision-making; and discover pathways to education, training and employment.
We are thrilled to have CEO, Kelly-ann Tansley join us over lunch to discuss the Zahra Foundation's important work towards their mission: ensuring that every woman in Australia impacted by domestic abuse is economically empowered and safe. Kelly-ann’s presentation will be followed with plenty of time to ask questions and to network with other attendees - we can't wait to see you there!
This event is open to all (all genders, members & non-members).
