The retirement system is inching closer to allowing women to retire with dignity, with some significant changes recently won after a long battle. But the entrenched systemic inequality is providing the final few hurdles that we need to overcome to ensure that all Australians are equal beneficiaries of our world-class system.

There are a number of intersectional threads of inequality that are currently weaving together to tie our system up in knots: gendered violence, treatment of First Nations people, undervaluing of care work and segregation into low-paid industries.

To address these issues, and to provide some real and tangible calls to action, we are bringing together the country’s experts in inequality: MPs, CEOs, chairs, writers and more, each with a new perspective to share at the upcoming Women in Super Conference.
