Membership time is approaching

We are heading into membership renewal time, so I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your membership of Women in Super. Without you, and 5000 other women across the country, we could not achieve the outcomes that we do – including the recent announcement that after more than a decade of campaigning, super will be paid on Commonwealth Paid Parental Leave.

I also want to provide you with an update on our work and some upcoming changes to membership fees.

This year Women in Super celebrates its 30th anniversary. We are using this extraordinary milestone as an opportunity to reflect on our history with an eye firmly on the future. To assist with this work, we engaged Right Lane Consulting to undertake an organisational Sustainability Review, and we are very thankful that many of you participated in that review through focus groups or surveys.

The Review resulted in a series of recommendations in three key areas - supporting long term financial stability, delivering value to stakeholders, and improving organisational effectiveness. The Board adopted all the recommendations and we have been working on their implementation since the beginning of the year.

Under the umbrella of ensuring financial stability we have developed strategies that involve a growth in membership numbers, an increase in membership fees, and the identification of new income streams.

From 1 July 2024 your membership fee will increase for the first time since 2019 (when we increased all fees by $1) and reflects both the increasing costs associated with our events and professional development, as well as our increasingly ambitious policy and advocacy agenda.

We have a raft of new initiatives coming up in the remainder of the year including hosting our 30th Anniversary Gala Dinner, and our inaugural open invitation policy conference. We are also exploring additional free opportunities for members online and increasing our collaborative work through industry roundtables and research. In order to support these new initiatives, we have set targets for membership growth and are actively in discussions with a range of potential new corporate members.

Collectively we can continue to achieve the remarkable outcomes we have since Women in Super started from a breakfast of 4 women to the national organisation that it is today. I look forward to your continued involvement in and support of all that we do.

PS Individual members - keep an eye out for your renewal email that will also contain details about how you can lock in current membership pricing by renewing before 30 June!
